We are a Central Alberta  based "No Kill"  Shelter  providing for an option to euthanasia for the law enforcement systems and owner surrender service. As well as  resource for breed rescue organizations throughout Canada and the US. We operate on a six  acre highway frontage parcel bordering the City of Lacombe. Our highway frontage sign advertisement advantage, the land we have to offer the animals and proximity to the City of Lacombe are an advantage. We have a mobile adoption trailer,  extended viewing appointment availability and an actual kennel facility where multiple dogs can be viewed. Our long term operations, experience, commitment to the cause and innovative approach to making a real difference in  further impacting the population are but  a few of the factors that  have enabled us to celebrate our eleventh year of successful operations with our  unique "No Kill" policies.

Most of our dogs while awaiting adoption reside at the shelter but some  of interest may be in local foster care and available for viewing upon pre-arranged appointments. . The "In  house, long term care, shelter facility"  currently allows for  extended stay accommodations for smaller animals,  with limited facilities for larger animals. We are a No-Kill shelter, therefore every admission has potential to become a long term resident, we must be prepared to provide for this.
We can currently house limited numbers of large breed dogs and have equally limited facilities for horses but do except large breeds dogs to capacity. We purchase horses destined for slaughter, here too, we must leave many behind. Though it is difficult to take one and leave so many, like the "Starfish Storey" ....the greater the number saved the bigger the impact!!  With the true Judgement being...... any contribution is better than no contribution.  This company has been in operation for 12yrs and though we offer other K9 and Equine related support services. Our cause is to save the greatest number of lives  possible with in the means, we alone, create as a business. We direct business activities accordingly. Though directed towards a good cause, remaining a non-funded operation.  We are a  business and like any other and rely upon and  appreciate your support and patronage. All of the animals within these walls are rescues. We do not breed dogs but will not end lives if an animal comes to us pregnant.  We are continually recruiting a group of  capable and dedicated foster homes to assist, those in need but this over population problem, is a significant one. Over the years our united efforts have seen great successes and have been an ever active part of making a  real difference. Unfortunately  we will see this work in progress through for many more years to come, both  within and outside of Canada, before mans best friend, can rest safe.
